How can Wal-Mart and Walgreen’s charge $4 for some of their meds? How do they make a profit?

How are some of the big tie stores able to charge so cheap for some of their meds? Just curious! Its great for us as consumers. I am just curious as to how they make a profit for selling it so cheap

    They buy them from the back alleys of China by the truckloads! No, the truth is they buy them cheaper than anyone else can by purchasing them in bulk and make no profit on them, but make it up on other merchandise in the store that gets bought when people are there to get their drugs!

    they get u in the door and do not let u out untill u spend an extra 200$ on junk u think u ‘need’. simple and proven.

    saving people money, so they can live better…i think its one of the best and more innovative things done in merchandising in such a long time. buying in bulk and buying generic may be some advantages to the reason why they can sell prescriptions for 4$, but profit can come in many ways. lifetime committed shoppers is a huge win.

    in my opinion, seeing such big box retailers giving people back money that they would have other wise spent on a prescription, to spend in their stores still is a plus. think of how may elderly people have had to make a choice over buying their prescriptions for the month or food b/c of a limited income due to SS or other reasons. how great is it for them only having to pay 4$ and having money to live? kudos to the Wal’s!!!
